My time as an UX & Design Specialist in A.S. Watson Group

I can say this was my best time in my career, I had a great opportunity to grow my UXUI knowledge, not only by drawing wireframes and layouts, but also taking part in research, UX workshops and customer interviews.

I am glad that our company gave us time and space for designing every detail in our products, because each small touch can lead to a better experience, for example, designing a search function is not just drawing a search bar, it includes different stages - typing, cancelling and suggesting some user-friendly information such as keywords suggestion, search history, search result etc.

More importantly, I met some friendly and passionated teammates, we worked closely and affect each other in a positive way. Although we had a very busy work time together, we had always been supportive.

My time in ASW was short but valuable in my life. I believe this work experience guided me to be a better designer, and it will definitely bring me to the next level in my career. Thank you so much!

It was my honour to be invited by HKID Gallery for featuring my products on the front desks in their shops at K11 and Hysan Place for 2 weeks!

Here is the promotion artwork I made for the event:

I was taking part in this event as a group called “Inherited Illustrators”, a group founded by my former illustration teacher. We were sharing a two booths, a big one to showcase our collaborated artwork and a small one selling products.

Information architecture workshop

I’m taking an online UX course, while my boss wants to redesign our company website. I took this as a good chance to apply what I have just learnt - information architecture - card sorting!

I wrote down some keywords on post-it notes and asked my boss to sort them in categories, so I would know how the website is structured.

Besides sorting, I also prepared some questions like who is the target audience, what is the first impression of the website, how do you want the visitors to interact with your website, what is the goal of specific pages etc, so that I can have a clearer idea of what would be challenges and how to solve them out.

Ednaillustration at exhibition! @JCCAC

In 17-21 March 2017, my secondary school was holding an art exhibition at Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) in Hong Kong, as a part of their 50th anniversary celebrations. I was invited by my art teacher to exhibit my work there in the alumni exhibition area. It was my great pressure!

I went back to Hong Kong from the UK for this event. My family and friends were so excited because we haven't seen each other for more than a year!

In the open ceremony, I met lots of familiar faces. It was impressive that my secondary school teachers still remember me and my name! Knowing that visual arts was my favourite subject at that time, they were all so pleased that I'm now work as a graphic designer and illustrator.

I can see the great effort from the current students and teachers, organising a big event from event planning to reception, is not an easy job. Well done to all the helpers and organisers!

I had a really enjoyable time there!
